Last Thursday our whole went to the regent to watch the Mawhera movie making festival unfortunately M1 did not get a place
but M2 and M3 made and we got to watch it on the big screen at the regent. 
I think that we could of known earlier so that we could more time to make our movie I also think that we could maybe have our movie a bit longer maybe that could of made us get a place.

My favourite movie was the first one by paroa school they did a robbery.

Stop Cutting Down our Jungles - Persuasive Writing

 Stop cutting down our jungles

Did you know that the cutting down of the worlds jungles is killing the
Orangutans and other amazing animals. Orangutans are great apes and the
closest related animal to us.

According to David Attenborough, cutting down our jungles and planting palm oil
trees or other crops instead is taking away the last of our Orangutans natural habitat.
David Attenborough also said that baby Orangutans currently living with their parents
in the wild could be the last to be able to live in the wild unless we do something about
it. 

More than one hundred Orangutans  die each week and 2,000 to 3,000 Orangutans
die each year because we are ruining their habitat.  Each year, more than 3.5 million
hectares of Indonasian and Malaysian forests are being replaced with  palm oil
plantations.  

When we cut down jungles, we are not only destroying the habitat and food supply
for many wonderful animals. The planet needs these jungles to be healthy.
They help to clear carbon dioxide, produce water and keep the planet cool.

Humans can be selfish but some of us just don’t know what is happening.
I suggest you watch Our Planet and visit their website to learn more and try and do
something to help.

It’s not too late, and if we all do something to help we can stop this destruction
and even  increase the amount of jungle. Hopefully our jungle animals will be able to
live a nice life in their natural habitat and our planet will be healthier.

This week in Chapter Chat one of our task was to research an animal I chose a Rattlesnake because I thought it would be interesting.

I enjoyed writing it and thinking of reasons.

Persuasive writing on littering

Did you know that littering is killing our fish and dolphins.

My first reason is that the more you litter rubbish is slowly
floating away into the sea and killing our sea creatures and
our birds because they think it’s food and they eat it and it gets
tangled up in there stomach.

Also it is ruining our environment and our sea because it is dirty
and when it goes into the sea it makes the sea dirty and it might
make animals sick.

Another one of my reasons is that not many plastics are
biodegradable and most of the plastic doesn’t break down and it
stays in the ocean for ever.

This is why I think littering is bad.

So please stop  littering it’s destroying our planet.
